There are gay people opposing gay marriage because it is an assimilationist policy, based in religion, and the idea that women must be property. Does that mean they hate gay people? No. Does that mean they do not want rights for gay people? Not necessarily. Straight people against gay marriage may also agree with these reasons or have other non-hate reasons. They absolutely don't need to hate gays.
