So I now have a Press Pass for Capitol Hill
I’m not going to show it to you guys, because it has my picture on it, but I have it, I promise. It lets me go all over the Capitol AND ride in the little underground train that connects the office buildings
And they pick up expenses I incur while traveling for work, which is a big deal when I have to go back and forth to the Capitol during work. I just wish they would pick up lunch too

Ugh Metro
Y u put Dunkin Donuts in station, but then say “no eating or drinking”
One of my favorite pastimes is ironing more wrinkles into a shirt than I ironed out

I’m just going to say I don’t mind being in uncomfortable situations. My life is basically one long, uncomfortable situation.
But there’s a difference between that and being in a room with someone who probably hates you. Or maybe not you, but something about you, that you can’t change. And that makes you feel bad about it, even when you almost never feel bad about it...
lovepeaceandboston replied to your post: Me saying hatred isn’t what the issue of gay marriage is BASED ON is somehow me saying it has NOTHING TO DO with it? Me asking if not coming to class is better than listening and challenging views is FORCING YOU to go? Okay, vaultdweller. Forgive me for challenging your views, maybe I misunderstood what an aspiring journalist would enjoy doing.

Anonymous asked: Also you don't have to publish this one but I'm also gay and equally passionate about gay rights but am maybe less passionate about generalizations re: the "basis" of gay rights and who gay marriage opponents are.
Anonymous asked: "The entire issue of gay marriage is based on a hatred of one group." -- It really, really isn't. There are gay people opposing gay marriage because it is an assimilationist policy, based in religion, and the idea that women must be property. Does that mean they hate gay people? No. Does that mean they do not want rights for gay people? Not necessarily. Straight people against gay...
Anonymous asked: "If you support the death penalty or less gun control, that has nothing to do with who someone is or discriminating against them." -- I'd be careful with that statement. Look into racial profiling. It has EVERYTHING to do with who the person is, who the alleged victim was, who the officer is. Discrimination is present in every issue. Just as a homophobic person will look at you...
Anonymous asked: "There’s a difference between saying “I support the death penalty” or “I think we need less gun control” and saying “I think these people don’t deserve the same rights as everyone else because their abominations”. That goes from being a political issue to being personal..." -- What if someone who has wrongly lost a loved one due to the...

“I’m not taking anything for granted anymore” I screamed as I downloaded every episode of my favorite show like there was no tomorrow

While it’s admirable he’s trying to present all sides, I can see your point. It would become seriously uncomfortable and personal…and just make me really mad, which would serve little point, IMO.
I totally get that he’s trying to present all sides, and I don’t have a problem with it, except for that one issue, because that’s not a political...

so for my class, which is basically Poli Sci 101, my professor was like “We cover a lot of controversial topics and I like to bring in speakers. I like to keep it balanced, so if I bring in someone who is pro-choice, I might bring in someone else who is pro-death penalty or against gay marriage”
And I was like, starting to get really nervous. Like, what if he actually brought in...

Days like this…hot cashier aside, they just seems kinda a waste of hours, don’t they?
Exactly. Like, for some people, they might think that going out and doing stuff is being productive, but when all I really wanted to do was go home and relax before I start work tomorrow, and I spend the whole time wishing I...

Things I did today that (begrudgingly) kept me away from my precious Tumblr
walked to Dunkin Donuts
was told to dress “business casual” for class, to which I promptly answered “fuck that noise” and wore jeans
found some random hole in the wall cafe by my classroom.
Went into said cafe and walked straight into a super hot cashier. Helloooo new favorite place to eat
Was...

Sometimes when I’m reading something really boring, I’ll think about how I can make the sentence funny by changing letters in a word, or substituting in a homophone
For example, I’ll read “Where are you manners?” as “Where are your manors?” and I will chuckle to myself heartily
Someday I’m going to write an entire story like this and no one will...

Sometimes I think this whole country has collectively gone insane
But then I read things like this:
“Respondents to a CBS/New York Times poll earlier this month ranked abortion fifth among five topics that matter most to them in the presidential election, with 3 percent choosing that option; the economy was first, with 56 percent.
And in an ABC News/Washington Post survey that left...
